The Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences’ (FABC) will be having a seminar on “The Impact of Pedophilia-Crisis on the Church in Asia” as it is not onle “a problem of the West”.
The Vatican gave all Bishops’ Conferences one year, starting May 16th, to formulate their own national policies regarding sex abuse of minors. According to the Huffington Post, “[t]he Vatican’s chief prosecutor of abuse cases, Monsignor Charles J. Scicluna, will be on hand to help Asian bishops craft ‘specific guidelines.'”
The seminar is being organize to address the growing concern in the region regarding the controversial issue.
