Pope reveals next World Meeting of Families is in Philadelphia

In Milan, where a million of Catholic faithful gathered for the last mass of the 7th World Meeting of Families, Pope Benedict XVI announced that the eighth shall take place in the Archdiocese of Philadephia, USA.  This assembly, which happens every three years, “brings together hundreds of thousands of people to pray, celebrate, and study marriage and family life.” Archbishop Charles Caput of Philadephia, welcomed the Pope’s announcement, stating that he was thankful and excited that they will host the 2015 gathering.  He emphasized the significance of holding it inPhiladelphia, “America’s cradle of freedom.”
