“Skyfall” gets positive review from Vatican newspaper

The Vatican newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, has devoted a series of complimentary articles to the latest James Bond movie, “Skyfall”, which it calls one of the best of the 23 James Bond films over the past 50 years.

In the main article, titled “007 License to Cry,” the newspaper says the latest incarnation of the world’s most famous spy is a rather good one because it makes him less of a cliché, and “more human, capable of being moved and of crying: in a word, more real”.

The Vatican newspaper also includes, in its Tuesday edition, an interview with the film’s star, Daniel Craig; a rundown of previous actors who portrayed the Bond character; a note on how author Ian Fleming chose the name for his action hero; and a review of the soundtracks for the 23 Bond films that have appeared to date.

“Skyfall” is now showing in Metro Manila cinemas and rated PG-13 by the MTRCB.
